In Memory of Gigi Luedeman
As we mourn the loss of our Executive Director, Gigi Luedeman, we remember the immense impact she made not only with A Big Heart Foundation, but throughout her life. As a three time cancer survivor, Gigi never shied away from a challenge. After a battle with breast cancer, Gigi chaired the 2003 “Race for the Cure” event, becoming the first chairperson to ever raise over one million dollars for the initiative. During her nearly 30 year long career at Belk Corporate, her hardworking spirit was evident in her Event Planning role — which married her passion for sports with her professional drive through organizing the first Belk Bowl event. Her role at A Big Heart Foundation was transformative, and her commitment to our mission remains a lasting inspiration. She will be mourned deeply and remembered for her life as a philanthropist, mother, sister, wife, and dear colleague.
